Speech of Munir Shafiq at the 18th meeting of the General Secretariat of Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad
Dear brothers and sisters
The uprising in Ramadan 2021 included, for the first time, all of Palestine: Jerusalem / Gaza / 48th Areas and the West Bank, under the roof of Saif Al-Quds which expanded the circle of engagement with the resistance’s missiles in Gaza, to include Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds. And the range of missiles extended to strike all over Palestine.
It is the fifth war in Gaza, and the beginning of the third uprising, in Jerusalem and the West Bank. As for the inclusion of the 48 youth, it includes all Palestinians at home and abroad.
The cease-fire was achieved with a clear defeat of the enemy and according the conditions of the resistance. The pace of the uprising has weakened in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem and Sheikh Jarrah, after concessions made by the enemy. (1) Preventing the storming of the mosque that was being prepared for it. (2) Postponing the eviction of Sheikh Jarrah residents from their homes for an indefinite period. (3) The endowment of dividing the yard of Bab al-Amud. (4) The surprise of the uprising of the 48 youth who declared Palestine is ours, all Palestine.
However, the cease-fire does not mean that the war is over. Clashes are still going on in Gaza, small incursions, and clashes are still going on in Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, Jerusalem, Jenin and Nablus district, and the counter-battle increased in intensity in the 48th.
One of the results of the Palestine uprising and Saif Al-Quds War was that Ramallah Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas, lost the initiative and stood observing the ceasefire decision. It is still in a state of confusion, loss, and irrelevance as long as it adheres to Oslo line and the settlement, and does not want to join the uprising and Saif Al-Quds.
A new element occurred to her, which was her perpetration of the murder of the young activist, Nizar Banat, to enter into a battle with an appreciative part of the Palestinian people and elites in the West Bank. Its response was drowning in arrests, torture, trampling policies on human rights, and the most dangerous continuation of security coordination policies.
The elections project, the reconciliation project, and its political project have fallen from its hands. Only the security function remained, in coordination with the enemy, and the escalating internal opposition was suppressed.
This is a very important new situation. And it threatens the collapse of the authority, in effect, as it has no role left but security coordination, defying the will of the Palestinian people, and moving quickly on the path of Antoine Lahd's forces.
This fifth war: the Palestinian uprising and the sword of Jerusalem, ended with an important victory for the strategy of the uprising and resistance, and the exposure of the enemy's weakness internally and globally, and even global public opinion. Then the end of Mahmoud Abbas' leadership role, and what was called its national project, brought the situation into a new stage. Remaining in power has become the ultimate goal, even if under the control of the occupation. All this unless there is a radical change in Fateh's leadership.
And if asked, what should our conference do? The answer is also what the conference tried to do as a conference and as coordinators and individuals during the uprising and the war of Saif Al-Quds. With its development and transformation into daily plans and projects for the work of our conference.
Our first duty is to support the internal resistance, and to exclude all political activities that distance us from that support.
Our second duty is to confront the activities of Zionism abroad, and we must focus on dropping the African decision to grant observer status to the Zionist entity. Here is the duty of cooperation and coordination with Algeria, which is interested in this matter.
Then there is a third duty, which is to reinforce and multiply our ranks, as the war of Saif Al-Quds and the uprising led to the joining of tens of thousands of people from abroad to support the Palestinian struggle. The goal of expanding membership and support to reach hundreds of thousands became possible after the recent confrontations and Saif AL-Quds.
The second dimension in this intervention will deal with the big and important event. It is America's defeat in Afghanistan. The victory of the people and the Taliban. And taking the lead in rebuilding the state and unifying Afghanistan.
The spectacle of defeat, with flying planes and thousands trying to hang on to them, left a humiliating image for America, NATO and their local allies.
America seemed defeated, confused, not even knowing how to get away. The prospects have been opened for Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan, and in the forefront is the Taliban, to fill the void and rebuild a new internal and regional order.
The impact of this defeat is not limited to Afghanistan, but extends to reconsidering America's assessment and its role on a global level. It was reflected on America's allies abroad, whether in the Zionist entity or the Arab situation on the one hand, and on the other hand, it was reflected in the axis of resistance, a conviction to take more offensive positions in the hope of driving America out of Iraq and Syria.
And with the hope of escalating the confrontation with the Zionist entity. This is the preoccupation now in Bennett's visit to America, and the return of the clatter of arms against Gaza, which began to fidget to break the siege, and confirm the achievements of the Palestine uprising and the war of Saif Al-Quds.
